International Young Scientists' Symposium 2026
29th September – 2nd October, 2026, Vilnius, Lithuania
Join us in Vilnius for an inspiring international symposium bringing together young scientists, researchers, engineers, and industry professionals at the forefront of photonics and semiconductor innovation.
Frontiers of Photonics & Semiconductor Technology 2026 will provide a dynamic platform for exchanging ideas, fostering collaborations, and exploring the technologies shaping the future of communications, sensing, computing, and integrated systems.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance, with the possibility of earning up to 2 ECTS credits, subject to their home institution's requirements.
Venue
The symposium will be held at The Scholarly Communication and Information Centre (MKIC) and in the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC).
Symposium Program
The symposium program will feature invited presentations by leading experts in the field.
Viktor Krozer
Ferdinand-Braun Institute for High-Frequency Electronics
Discussing photonic-electronic heterogeneous integration technologies, highlighting advances that are driving the convergence of photonics and electronics.
Alvydas Lisauskas
Vilnius University
Presenting recent developments in high-speed optoelectronics in his talk, Optoelectronics that Work Above the Cut-Off Frequency.
Armandas Balčytis
Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology
Exploring the rapidly evolving field of integrated photonic circuits and their role in enabling a new era of photonic technologies.
Plenary Lectures
Participants will also have the unique opportunity to attend plenary lectures delivered by internationally renowned scientists: Xi-Cheng Zhang, Willie Padilla, and Tadao Nagatsuma.
Their pioneering contributions to terahertz science, metamaterials, and high-frequency communications have significantly shaped modern photonics research, making these plenary sessions a highlight of the symposium program.
